Rotations

Please be aware that the 2018 rotations still remain subject to change and cannot be guaranteed.

Please note that if successful in your ATCF application, you will be able to omit 6 months of rotations. The posts omitted will be one of those AFTER your first ARCP which is held at 6 months. It will usually be the last post in ST2, unless this is GP, in which case it will be earlier posts in ST2. Please bear this in mind when considering your rotation choices as rotations cannot be changed at a later date without statutory reasons.

Targeted Enhanced Recruitment Scheme (TERS)

The Peninsula and Severn School’s or Primary Care are excited to announce they have been allocated  a number of TERS funded posts targeting TBC. Successful applicants appointed to these posts will be entitled to a financial  incentive in the form of a  £20,000 salary supplement once they have taken up their post. This scheme is open to GP trainees committed to working for three years.

Further information about the TERS scheme further information can be found here: BMAGP NRONHS England

The TERS posts available will be highlighted with TERS next to the rotation number.

Information about the Patches can be found here

If you have any questions regarding the TERS' posts please contact the relevant GP School: Severn's or Peninsula's

Deferrals

It is not possible to guarantee any rotations or programme allocations if you chose to defer for any length of time.

If you request a deferral you will not be eligible for any TER's funding.

Deferral Request's

If you request a 6 month deferral, so that you start in February 2019 rather than August 2018, it is likely that we will be able to give you an indicative rotation. Please note that you would normally have to drop/lose your first post in this rotation ie. the post which runs from August 2018 to February 2019 when you will not be in training. It is very unlikely that you will be offered this post at any other time. The exception to this will be if your first post is in GP, and you will then be swapped into this at a later point.

If you request a 1 year deferral, we will NOT be able to guarantee a return to your originally allocated programme; you may be offered a rotation in an under-filled programme.

Deferred Start date candidates Returning to Training in 2018

Before Round 1 2018 offers are complete you will be asked to fill in a Programme preference form, in which you will be asked to rank your preferred programmes within either Severn or Peninsula.

Should we be unable to allocate you to the programme you deferred entry from (eg. Bristol programme, Plymouth Programme) then we will allocate you to the first available vacant programme by ranking order of deferred candidates and using your submitted programme preference form.

Once we have confirmed your allocated Programme in either Severn or Peninsula we will contact you in line with all other trainees from recruitment 2018 to commence rotation preferencing.

Within your allocated programme your national ranking number from 2017 will be taken into account alongside this years recruited candidates and used to determine your rotation.
