GPST Lead Employer
From 1.04.17 all GP trainees will be employed by the lead acute trust within their locality for the whole of their 3-year GP training programme. As lead employers the five trusts will take care of all employment and HR services and provide one single liaison point for queries around these matters from trainees, trainers and practice managers, including:
- Pre-employment activities
- Relocation expenses
- Payroll provision
- Pensions
- Absence reporting
- Advice, guidance and HR Management
- DBS checks
- Pre-employment health screening and Occupational Health service provision
- Immigration status requirements
- Issuing appropriate contracts of employment
- Attendance management
- Liaison for Medical Performers List requirements
- Reporting to Health Education South West regarding all of the above
