Targeted General Practice Training (TGPT)
Following a period of consultation by HEE and agreement from the RCGP and GMC, HEE has launched the Targeted GP Training (TGPT) scheme.
TGPT allows former GP trainees who passed their WPBA and one of the two required MRCGP exams (either the AKT or CSA) but left training without passing the second exam between August 2010 – January 2018, to re-enter GP training.
TGPT will commence in February 2019 and will be managed by the GPNRO, recruitment will be run concurrently with ST1 selection for February 2019 entry. Successful applicants will enter TGPT in a GP post at ST3 level and TGPT is for a duration of 18 months.
